Injury Report: Warriors’ Steph Curry suffers tailbone contusion vs. Rockets

In the opening contest of a three-game road swing, the Golden State Warriors paired together for an impressive performance in the team’s first stop in the lone star state against the Houston Rockets.

Through the first three quarters, the Warriors looked strong, jumping out to a commanding 15 point lead heading into the final 12 minutes of the contest. Before the fourth quarter started, the Warriors dealt with an injury.

After launching a 3-pointer, Steph Curry began to backpedal into the sideline. The seven-time All-Star stumbled and fell backward, landing directly on a metal area near the Rockets bench. Curry looked in pain from the moment he landed on the ground.

Following his tumble, Curry made a trip to the locker room. On his way to the visiting locker room in Houston, the two-time Most Valuable Player appeared to be in pain.

Shortly after entering the locker room, the Warriors ruled Curry out for the remainder of the contest with a tailbone contusion.

In his postgame virtual presser, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Curry is feeling like he will be fine, but there’s no updated timetable on his return to the court.

During Golden State’s 108-94 win against Houston, Curry finished the contest with 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field with eight assists, five rebounds and a steal in 30 minutes.

Curry will have Thursday to rest before Golden State begins a tough road back-to-back against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
