Injury Report: Warriors rookie James Wiseman ruled out vs. Magic on Thursday

The Golden State Warriors had a thin bench during their recent four-game road swing in Texas. With both James Wiseman and Kevon Looney out due to injuries, the Warriors suited up for the trip without a traditional center.

The No. 2 overall selection in the 2020 NBA draft has missed the previous five games due to a sprained wrist injury he suffered against the Detroit Pistons at the end of January.

Although Wiseman’s wrist injury is scheduled to be re-evaluated on Thursday when the Warriors return to Chase Center, Golden State will be without the 19-year-old for another game against the Orlando Magic.

With Wiseman and Looney still sidelined, Steve Kerr will lean on Juan Toscano-Anderson and Draymond Green in the frontcourt against Nikola Vucevic and the Magic.

After Thursday against Orlando, the Warriors are slated to host Kevin Durant and the new-look Brookly Nets on Saturday. To keep pace with Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, Golden State could use Wiseman’s presence back in the rotation.
