Injury Report: Warriors’ Moses Moody exits contest vs. Timberwolves due to left eye contusion

With Klay Thompson out due to a general illness, the Golden State Warriors have opted to start rookie Moses Moody against the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Yet, the Warriors rookie’s contest on Tuesday in Minnesota was cut short after a collision at the rim. In the first quarter against the Timberwolves, Moody appeared to receive a blow to the face from Karl-Anthony Towns on a layup attempt.

After exiting the game in the first quarter, Moody was ruled out for the remainder of the contest with a left-eye contusion.

In the first seven minutes, Moody got off to an impressive start, scoring six points on 2-of-2 shooting from the field, including a triple against the Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Without Moody and Thompson, the Warriors leaned on Gary Payton II, Damion Lee and Jordan Poole in the backcourt against the Timberwolves. However, the Warriors didn’t have an answer for Towns in another loss on the road, 129-114.

Following the Warriors’ loss in Minnesota, Steve Kerr revealed Moody’s eye was swollen shut after taking a hit from Towns.

Moody will have one day off before the Warriors will continue their road trip on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks. If both Moody and Thompson are ruled out, the Warriors could use Lee or Poole in the starting lineup alongside Steph Curry and Payton II in the backcourt against Luka Doncic.
