On Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers, Andre Iguodala made his return to the court after an 11-game absence due to a knee injury.
During Golden State’s 102-93 loss in Philadelphia, Iguodala played 11 minutes off the bench, scoring just two points on 1-of-5 shooting from the field. The veteran added three boards against the Sixers.
Iguodala’s return to action will be limited. The 37-year-old forward has been ruled out on Monday against the Indiana Pacers with the right knee injury management again.
Over the Warriors’ five-game east coast road swing, they will play a pair of back-to-back starting with Monday’s contest in Indiana. After their contest against the Pacers, the Warriors will travel to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday for a battle against the New York Knicks.
While comfortably holding one of the top records in the NBA at 21-5, the Warriors will likely continue to be patient with Iguodala’s injury. The veteran will likely play a key role as a closer off the bench down the final stretch of the season.
During the 2021-22 campaign, Iguodala has played 13 games, averaging 3.6 points on 39.6% shooting from the floor with 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 20 minutes per contest.
With Iguodala out, Otto Porter Jr., Nemanja Bjelica and Juan Toscano-Anderson could play increased minutes off the bench for Steve Kerr against the Pacers on Monday.
The Warriors are set to meet the Pacers on Monday at 4 p.m. PT.
