Injury Report: Warriors’ Andre Iguodala (hip) ruled out vs. Kings on Sunday

Despite starting the 2021-22 season with a 2-0 record, the Golden State Warriors have been without three key pieces due to injury. Klay Thompson (Achilles and ACL), Jonathan Kuminga (patellar tendon) and James Wiseman (meniscus) have each missed the start of the season.

For the third game on the schedule, the Warriors will be without veteran forward Andre Iguodala due to left hip soreness. During the second half of Golden State’s 115-113 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Iguodala slipped on a wet spot on the floor at Chase Center.

Through two games, the 37-year-old swingman is averaging eight points on 66.7% shooting from the floor with 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. Iguodala has been one of Steve Kerr’s first options off the bench in the opening two games.

With Iguodala out, players like Otto Porter Jr. and Moses Moody could be in line for an increased role in Golden State’s second unit. Porter Jr. hasn’t notched over 20 minutes off the bench yet this season. Moody has yet to play over six minutes in a game for the Warriors.

Nemanja Bjelica, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Damion Lee will also likely be heavily involved in Golden State’s second unit on Sunday against the Kings.

The Warriors will meet the Kings at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on Sunday at 6 p.m.
