Before the end of the third quarter against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Steph Curry fell during his backpedal after a missed 3-pointer. His fall caused the seven-time All-Star to miss the fourth quarter in Houston and Golden State’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday due to a tailbone contusion.
With the second-leg of a two-game back-to-back series slated for Saturday in Memphis, it’s likely Curry will be sidelined for the second consecutive game. Following the Warriors’ 116-103 victory on Friday night, Steve Kerr said Curry is “very doubtful” to play in part two against the Grizzlies on Saturday.
He’s very doubtful. It would be irresponsible, I think, for us to play him at this point. He’s still in pain. Drew Yoder told me we have to make sure he’s stable and strong in that area and the muscles around the injury. It’s not even a question of temptation to put him out there. It’s just; we’re going to do what’s right medically. When he’s ready, he’s ready.

With Curry missing from the rotation, Kerr opted to start Jordan Poole. The second-year guard backed up Andrew Wiggins’s 40 point performance with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field in Golden State’s 116-103 win in Memphis.
If Curry isn’t ready to return for part two, the Warriors will need to lean on Wiggins and Poole again to sweep the two-game series against the Grizzlies.
