Injury Report: Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama (right ankle) out vs. Warriors on Saturday

While the Golden State Warriors will be missing Stephen Curry on Saturday night due to an ankle injury, the San Antonio Spurs will be without a key centerpiece as well on Saturday night in San Francisco.

2023 No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama has been ruled out for Saturday’s contest due to a right ankle sprain.

Via @JMcDonald_SAEN on Twitter:

Wembanyama missed the Spurs’ loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday evening.

In his rookie season, the French big man is averaging 20.7 points on 46.9% shooting from the field with 10.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.4 blocks in 28.8 minutes per contest.

With Wembanyama ruled out, the Spurs will deploy a frontcourt featuring Zach Collins and rookie Julian Champagnie against the Warriors on Saturday night in San Francisco.
