Injury Report: Kevon Looney (hip soreness) ruled out for the next 3 weeks

In an injury-riddled season, Kevon Looney played one of his best games of the year in the Golden State Warriors comeback win over the Phoenix Suns.

The UCLA product recorded 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting with six rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes. Since scoring in double-figures against the Suns, Looney missed the next three contests for the Warriors with hip soreness.

Looney’s absence from Golden State will continue to grow as the Warriors have officially ruled out their veteran center for the next three weeks.

After experiencing “ongoing symptoms,” Looney’s hip will be re-evaluated on March 28. Looney has missed 39 games this season with a neuropathic condition, abdominal and hip soreness. The Golden State center will miss at least the next nine games before being re-evaluated.

Without Looney, Golden State will lean heavily on breakout center Marquese Chriss. Dragan Bender and Alen Smailagic will be options for the frontcourt off the bench for Steve Kerr.
