Injury Report: Gordon Hayward probable vs. Thunder, Jaylen Brown OUT

The Boston Celtics might inch closer to full health again Sunday if things break their way on the injury front.

Forward Gordon Hayward has been upgraded to probable for the Mar. 8 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, his contused knee evidently showing a favorable response to his time off.

The Butler product collided with teammate Daniel Theis in the Mar. 3 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, and has sat since as the team has been extraordinarily careful with its player’s health heading into the thick of the stretch run.

Shooting guard Jaylen Brown is still listed as out for the rematch with the Thunder, which was expected given the injury sidelining him — a hamstring strain also sustained late in the loss to the Nets — is very easy to re-injure if not completely healed.

Brown has injured his hamstring in the past, so it may be extra incentive to be cautious with his health, as any sort of deep run in the postseason will almost certainly hinge on his health.
