The Kansas City Chiefs had their seventh open training camp practice of the season on Saturday.
After leaving practice with illness yesterday, Mecole Hardman was back in action today. Xavier Williams, who had an unexplained absence from practice, was also back in the mix. It’s possible that he had an excused absence and wasn’t injured at all.
For the second-consecutive practice, both Tyreek Hill and Mitchell Schwartz were back on the field. It’s safe to say they didn’t suffer any setbacks during Friday’s practice. However, there were two new additions to the injury report.
Here’s a look at all the players that didn’t practice on Saturday:
- DE Tim Ward – NFI
- LB Darius Harris – NFI
- WR Gehrig Dieter – Back spasms
- S Jordan Lucas – Hamstring
- RB Damien Williams – Hamstring
- LB Damien Wilson – Knee
- CB Rashad Fenton – ??
The injury to linebacker Damien Wilson seems to be to his knee. Andy Reid described it as soreness and nothing significant. It sounds like they were just giving him some rest in order to get the knee feeling a bit better. As for rookie cornerback Rashad Fenton, his absence was unexplained. It could be injury-related or it might not be. We’ll have to see what happens Fenton with tomorrow’s practice. Reid specifically mentioned that Gehrig Dieter and Damien Williams are improving from their injuries, so that means we could potentially see them back in action as soon as tomorrow or the beginning of next week.
