Injury report following fifth day of Chiefs training camp

The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t seem to suffer any new injuries in practice today.

There was some concern that something could be going on with Frank Clark as he was spotted in the trainers tent early in practice. As it turns out, he was just late to training camp after spending some time with his family away from the Missouri Western State campus.

After practice Andy Reid confirmed the initial fears for CB Keith Reaser. He suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the season. As expected, Tyreek Hill did not practice today after colliding with Bashaud Breeland on Tuesday and bruising his quad. But Reid did mention that he could return to practice as early as Friday.

Here’s a look at all the players that didn’t practice on Wednesday:

  • DE Tim Ward – NFI
  • LB Darius Harris – NFI
  • RT Mitchell Schwartz – Back spasms
  • WR Gehrig Dieter – Back spasms
  • S Jordan Lucas – Hamstring
  • RB Damien Williams – Hamstring
  • WR Tyreek Hill – Quad

One other important note from Reid’s media availability was regarding Tremon Smith’s move to running back. He wouldn’t confirm if it was permanent, but he did say it was prompted by the injuries at the RB position. So it would seem that Damien Williams is expected to be out for a while. Marcus Marshall returned to practice today. Smith worked with the second team at the running back position during practice.
