Injury report: Enes Kanter (knee contusion) out vs. Hornets

Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter continues to be held out of game action as he recovers from a  left knee contusion he sustained against the Philadelphia 76ers in the season opener, as the Celtics have ruled the big man out for Thursday’s contest against the Charlotte Hornets.

The nine-year veteran is now missing his fifth consecutive game and has been on the mend for two weeks. With his status only listed as questionable prior to their matchup against Charlotte and Boston having one more game left on their three-game road trip after they face the Hornets, Kanter may make his return when the Celtics face the Dallas Mavericks at home on Nov. 11.

Then again, with how slow he’s progressed from his injury to this point, Kanter could remain out for an even longer period of time.

Boston has won all five of their games with Kanter out with the litany of big men at their disposal and they should be favored against Charlotte, though Hornets center Cody Zeller will be a handful to handle on the glass with 10.5 rebounds per game (4.0 offensive) to start the season.
