Injury Report: Draymond Green (foot) ruled probable for Friday vs. Trail Blazers

After capping off a four-game road trip with a pair of victories, the Golden State Warriors were still without a key starter.

After missing the start of training camp and the preseason due to reportedly testing positive for COVID-19, Draymond Green has missed the first four games of the season with an injury in his right foot.

With the Warriors set to return to Chase Center in San Francisco for a seven-game homestand, Green could be on the path for the 2020-21 season. On Thursday, Steve Kerr was “probable” for Golden State’s home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on New Year’s Day.

He’s probable. He just practiced fully. We scrimmaged for 12 minutes. He played the entire 12. He looked great. He should be good to go, but we won’t make an official proclamation until tomorrow.

While he’s been sidelined, Green has been coaching up rookie James Wiseman from the bench. If the three-time All-Star is able to return to Kerr’s starting lineup against the Trail Blazers, it will be the first time Green and Golden State’s 2020 first-round pick will be in the frontcourt together.

Green’s debut will also give the Warriors a first look at a likely starting lineup that features Wiseman, Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre Jr. and the former Defensive Player of the Year. Green’s return will shift Juan Toscano-Anderson back to a role off the bench.
