Injury Report: Draymond Green (ankle soreness) late scratch vs. Heat

Before the start of Wednesday’s tilt against the Miami Heat, the Golden State Warriors were hit with some late injury news. With an already depleted frontcourt against Miami, the Warriors’ rotation took another hit, with Draymond Green ruled as a late scratch due to ankle soreness on Wednesday.

With Green joining James Wiseman and Kevon Looney on the sidelines, Steve Kerr opted to go small against Miami, starting Mychal Mulder on Wednesday.

Mulder is averaging 4.2 points on 49.4% shooting from the field in 10.7 minutes per contest. Mulder’s addition to the lineup will give the Warriors another shooter on the floor alongside Steph Curry. The former Kentucky sharpshooter is shooting 45.6% shooting from beyond the arc in 26 games this season.

Prior to Green’s late scratch, the three-time All-Star was coming off a 16 assist performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. Green has tallied double-figures in assists in six of the Warriors’ last seven games.

Without Green or any traditional centers, the Warriors will be tasked with slowing down Miami’s All-Star big Bam Adebayo.
