Injury crisis sees Watford move for former Bristol City star now at Fulham

Watford are considering a move for Fulham left-back Joe Bryan.

Sky Sports report that the injury-hit Hornets are suffering a defensive crisis, and a left-sided defender is the priority for Nigel Pearson.

Bryan joined Fulham from Bristol City in the summer of 2018 performing a highly-publicised u-turn to reject a move to Aston Villa in order to play in the Premier League for the Cottagers.

Whilst Fulham were eventually relegated, the former Robin could now be on his way back to the Premier League.

Watford have reportedly scouted Bryan a number of times over the last two months, and Pearson's appointment appears to have continued their interest.

Fulham paid £6m to the Robins for Bryan, and he has made 27 appearances so far this season, scoring his first league goal for the club in September.

His first season in the Premier League was a learning curve, with some fans critical of his early performances before an injury, but he went on to make 30 appearances across the season, also scoring in the EFL Cup.

Recently, both Bryan and Cottagers teammate Bobby Reid reflected on their time together at Bristol City.
