Injury blow for St Johnstone as Murray Davidson fractures arm

St Johnstone have been dealt a blow with news that Murray Davidson is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The influential midfielder fractured his left arm in training on Thursday and will not be back for a minimum of six weeks.

Davidson was suspended for Wednesday evening’s Premiership defeat at Livingston but has been a regular for Tommy Wright this season.

The 31-year-old’s setback comes at a time when Saints are preparing for a hectic run of fixtures.

Perth players have been preparing for this weekend’s home league match with Kilmarnock before Celtic travel to McDiarmid Park midweek.

Boss Wright will have the likes of Ali McCann, Jason Holt, Liam Craig and David Wotherspoon to call upon in the central midfield area.

Davidson has been renowned for recovering from injuries quicker than expected in the past and supporters will hope that will again be the case.
