Injured walker airlifted from Scots beauty spot

A man has been airlifted to hospital after being injured at a Scots beauty spot.

Emergency services raced to Campsie Fells, near Lennoxtown, East Dumbartonshire, around 2.50pm today amid reports of a hurt walker.

Mountain rescue teams, ambulances and police units were spotted in the area.

A helicopter was also seen by worried locals.

A police spokeswoman said that the man had been transported to hospital by air ambulance.

It is unclear what his current condition is.

She said: "Officers were called to assist at a mountain rescue incident on Campsie Fells near Lennoxtown, at around 2.50pm on Sunday, 21 February.

"One man, believed to be an injured walker, has been taken to hospital by air ambulance."
