Injured Strictly Come Dancing pro Neil Jones still not sure if he'll return this weekend

Neil Jones is awaiting to hear whether he will return to Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

The professional dancer has missed two live shows with celebrity partner Alex Scott after sustaining an injury in training.

Fellow pro Kevin Clifton has stood in for him and performed with Alex for the past two live shows, while Neil did return to training for the first time this week.

Now, with viewers awaiting to hear his Strictly future for this series, Neil has confirmed he doesn't yet know if he will be back.

Neil has to be passed by the show's physiotherapist and get the go ahead to perform.

The dancer is hoping to make his comeback on Saturday night and has been busy rehearsing, but it will be decided on Friday.

He explained: "I'm really hoping, I still don't know, I've been dancing today a lot.

"I've been doing that and it's feeling really good, but I need to be passed by physio tomorrow."

He praised his partner Alex for doing so well without him, managing to pull off the routines he has choreographed.

Neil told It Takes Two host Zoe Ball: "I was really proud, she keeps working so hard and I was just sat there watching her on the screen like, 'you can do it, you can do it'."

Alex praised her partner for getting her to the level she is at, saying she couldn't do it without him.

Kevin, meanwhile, talked about Alex flipping between two partners adding how "difficult" it is to do.

He said: "It was difficult for Alex we were chatting about this today.

"If you're not a dancer you don't understand how different it is dancing with different people.

"She' had to flip between the two of us and she did it so brilliantly."

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday nights on BBC One, with the results show on Sunday.
