'Injured' Ranvir Singh forced to present GMB with foot in icy water after painful Strictly training

Ranvir Singh had to present Good Morning Britain with her foot in ice on Wednesday after nursing painful injuries from her relentless Strictly Come Dancing training.

Ranvir, 43, made her ballroom debut on Saturday night with partner Aljaz Skorjanec and they got off to an impressive start thanks to a well received Paso Doble to Beyonce's End of Time that put her near the higher end of the leaderboard on week one.

After making a fine first impression, the pressure is on for new anchor Ranvir after judge Motsi Mabuse labelled her 'most improved' and this weekend she will be hoping to impress both the Strictly judges and viewers with a Quickstep to You Are The Sunshine Of My Life by Stevie Wonder.

But the rehearsals for Saturday's second live show have taken their toll on Ranvir and she had to rest her weary feet in a box of icy water as she got back to her day job to present GMB alongside Adil Ray on Saturday.

Ranvir said the production team had given her the icy water to help soothe her pain and told Adil and viewers at home: "This week two malarkey is really hard.

"You've got hardly any days and you are learning a whole new dance."

She added that the water was soothing her aching body before she headed off for her next training session with Aljaz.

The frontrunners for Strictly 2020 after the first live show were young pop star HRVY, who topped the leaderboard with a score of 25 out of 30 and EastEnders actress Maisie Smith who was just behind him on 34.

This weekend will see the first elimination of the new series with Jacqui Smith the bookies' favourite to get the boot after scoring just 13 on Saturday night.
