Adelaide 36ers centre Ben Griscti isn't putting a timeline on his return as he continues his recovery from a freak accident during the NBL Blitz that left him with a fractured neck.

The 23-year-old remains in a neck brace after he was injured when a backboard collapsed during the 36ers' shoot-around before their last game in the pre-season tournament at the AIS in Canberra late last month

Griscti visited team training, with his teammates getting around the promising youngster, who said he'd been buoyed by their support.

"Coming out to training has been really good because I get to come in and look at the group work and especially how much they've supported me over this time," the South Australian product said.

"It's good to come in and see them and you know just have the conversations face to face and just see the guys and how we're doing."

The Sixers kick of their NBL season in round two with a home game against Brisbane, the Adelaide team one of the title favourites after recruiting Perth superstar Bryce Cotton.

While he would love to be on the court, Griscti, who made his debut and played seven NBL games last season, said he had to be patient with his recovery.

"I'm just taking everything step by step," he said.

"I have a scan six weeks post-injury to see if I can take the neck brace off, and then I can start doing some physiotherapy and trying to strengthen the neck.

"But, I'm not trying to rush anything - I'm trying to take my time and return to full health and be ready to go, so that time will come but I'm being patient and just taking everything as it happens."
