Injured man rescued after he was stuck on Carningli Mountain for three days

A man has been rescued from a mountain after he was stuck there for three days.

Volunteers at Western Beacons Mountain Rescue were called to Carningli Mountain in the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshir e on Tuesday to help a man who had a suspected broken ankle.

Dyfed Powys Police said they were called after receiving "concerns" for a person at 11.10am.

The man has now been seen by paramedics.

A spokesman for Western Beacons Mountain Rescue said they believed the man had been stuck on the mountain since Saturday.

They said: "A member of the public called the police for help however due to lack of road access Western Beacons Mountain Rescue volunteers have been drafted in.

"Western Beacons then coordinated the extraction of the casualty with the Coastguard Helicopter to remove him safely from the mountain. The casualty is now with paramedics and en route to hospital to receive further medical attention."
