A man was rushed to hospital by air ambulance fighting for his life after being found injured at a house.

Paramedics and police officers were called to Town Meadow Lane, in Moreton , shortly before 9am on Thursday morning to reports a man was injured.

An air ambulance also landed close to the scene before the man was taken to hospital for treatment and is reportedly still fighting for his life.

A police scene was put in place outside and around the house shortly after the emergency call but officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO: "We can confirm officers attended an address in Moreton this morning following reports a man was injured.

"At around 8.55am, emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

"He remains in a critical condition.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. A scene is in place while enquiries are carried out."
