Injured Kings goalie Jonathan Quick is expected to miss about three months

LOS ANGELES _ After weighing his options, injured Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick underwent a procedure on Tuesday that did not involve surgery, according to Kings hockey operations.

Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi on Wednesday said that he expects Quick to be out for about three months. Quick was injured in the Kings' season opener at San Jose a week ago. The injury is said to be in the same area as where Quick sustained a strained groin in 2013 and missed almost two months.

Quick is on injured reserve right now. Asked if he would be going on long-term injured reserve, a Kings executive told the Los Angeles Times, "not now."

The Kings have started the season 0-3, and goaltender Jeff Zatkoff was pulled after two periods in the Kings' 6-3 loss at Minnesota on Tuesday night.
