Injured Dublin woman allegedly robbed while asleep in a Spanish hospital

A Dublin woman who was just after undergoing an operation was allegedly robbed while she was asleep at a Hospital in Spain.

Paula Brody claims that she woke up after her serious leg operation to find that her smart phone and charger had been stolen from her beside table.

The 75-year-old states that she wasn't the only one who was robbed, claiming that the 'whole ward' had been affected in some way.

Speaking to The Olive Press in Spain, she said that she was "devastated to wake up alone and in pain and also unable to contact any family or friends."

Paula, who has been living in Spain for the past two months, suffered a traumatic fall last week, breaking her tibia and fibula as well as receiving a deep cut on her leg following a fall at her friend's house.

Despite the ordeal at the hospital, Paula says that the medical care and nursing in the hotel has been "excellent".

Dublin Live has contacted Spanish police and the hospital in question and has also reached out to Paula for further comment.
