Injured Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha may still have to go to Africa

Crystal Palace are waiting to see if the Ivory Coast insist that Wilfried Zaha report for duty so they can assess the hamstring injury that kept him out of the FA Cup defeat at Watford themselves.

After the 2-1 quarter-final defeat Eagles manager Roy Hodgson did not know when he could return.

Hodgson said: “You never know with hamstring injuries and strains, you have to be very careful especially with players as explosive as Wilf is.”

The forward was named in the Ivory Coast squad to face Rwanda on Saturday in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match and have the right to assess the injury themselves.
