An injured boy was brought down safely from moorland after falling near the "lost" castle of Stalybridge.
The youngster had been out walking with family near Buckton Castle in Carrbrook.
Police alerted Oldham Mountain Rescue Team on Friday evening after receiving a 999 call at 6.30pm.
OMRT said: "Friday evening saw a request from Greater Manchester Police to the Team asking for assistance with the treatment and evacuation of a young male who had taken a tumble while out walking near Buckton Castle in Carrbrook.
"We got an accurate location via our mapping system and soon had team members on scene who were able to assess the casualty as having a lower leg injury, as well as being mildly hypothermic, due to sitting on the ground for a while.
"After administering pain relief and packaging him on our stretcher, it was then a short, if not technical, carry down to the waiting ambulance.
"Thank you to the family members and friends who kept him warm and guided us in to the location."
Twenty OMRT members were involved in the rescue for 1 hour and 24 minutes.
They added: "As a rescue service we are happy to assist anyone in distress. We don’t judge our casualties and respectfully ask our followers to act in a similar manner. Let’s keep it positive folks."
The location was close to the site of the former 900-year-old castle which once stood on a ridge above Buckton Moor.
It was once thought to have been an ancient hill fort but excavations by a University of Manchester team established it had actually been one of England's most important castles with nine-foot thick stone walls.
