Nov. 09--The Blackhawks defeated the Oilers 4-2 on Sunday behind two goals from Artemi Panarin and a strong effort from Corey Crawford, who made 34 saves. The other Blackhawks goals came from the Hawks second line, with Patrick Kane and Artem Anisimov also scoring. Kane added three assists and extended his points streak to 10 games.
Bread man delivers
Before Sunday, the last time Artemi Panarin scored a goal was Oct. 10, but Panarin returned to the goal table in a big way Sunday, netting two first-period goals. The first came on a one-timer from Patrick Kane on a sharp angle during the first period. The puck bounced off the shoulder of Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot and into the net 58 seconds into the game. The second came at 17:35 of the period when Panarin knifed his way through the neutral zone and fired one past Talbot from the high slot.
Hossa returns
After missing the last three games because of a lower-body injury, Marian Hossa returned to the ice while center Artem Anisimov played after leaving Friday's game against the Devils because of a lower-body injury. Ryan Garbutt was a healthy scratch.
Sky is falling
Just before a faceoff in the third period, a large piece of what appeared to be sound equipment fell from the ceiling of the United Center. The piece of equipment did not appear to be heavy. It did not hit anybody on the ice and was removed quickly from play.
