Initial Saints injury report for Week 3 vs. Cowboys

The New Orleans Saints return home to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, a nationally-televised game on NBC.

The initial injury reports published by the Saints and the Cowboys on Wednesday are the initial reports for the week. A second, updated report will be released on Thursday. The final injury report with game status for certain players will be issued on Friday. Daily changes in practice participation are noted in bold text.

Something worth keeping an eye on will be the status of defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, who could possibly make his return in Week 4. Linebacker Kaden Elliss has also suffered a season-ending injury prompting New Orleans to reunite with former first-round pick Stephone Anthony. Quarterback Drew Brees is undergoing post-surgery rehab in Los Angeles under doctors’ supervision, but is expected to join his team on the sidelines for Sunday’s kickoff against the Cowboys.
