Ingram Wynd restaurant announces permanent closure due to pandemic

The Ingram Wynd has announced it is closing after 10 years in business.

The Merchant City restaurant will not reopen during Phase Three as bosses say the impact of the pandemic on small businesses has been "substantial."

A statement on the Ingram Wynd's Facebook page read: "After ten incredible and very successful years we have made the decision to close Ingram Wynd Restaurant.

"The landscape of our industry has changed greatly during these very difficult times and the impact this pandemic has had on small businesses has been substantial.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers for their support over the past decade and every member of staff who worked with us over the years. We thank you.

"Glasgow, look back on us fondly, with a dram in hand - thank you for the memories. And remember when one door closes.. another one opens."

Nestled on the corner of Ingram Street and Shuttle Street, the popular eatery was well-known for its seasonal Scottish dishes and Victorian-inspired decor.

Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland even popped in before his Old Fruitmarket gig last October.

The good news is the beer garden will still be trading as a separate entity – so you can still pop by this people-watching spot for a pint this summer... weather abiding.
