Ingram Street police incident: Area near Glasgow Queen Street closed to traffic

A road closure is in place in Glasgow city centre amid an ongoing police incident.

Ingram Street is currently closed to all traffic between Queen Street and South Frederick Street.

First Glasgow have confirmed that a number of city bus routes have been affected by the road closure.

Glasgow City Council's traffic information department (TRAFFCOM) issued a bulletin confirming news of the closure.

It reads: "Due to an on-going police incident, Ingram Street is closed to all traffic between Queen Street and South Frederick Street."

Police have confirmed to Glasgow Live that the ongoing incident relates to concern for a person within a building.

A statement released by Police Scotland said: ""Officers are currently in attendance in Ingram Street, Glasgow, following a report of a concern for a person within a building."

"Police remain at the scene."

UPDATE - Ingram Street is now fully open.
