While decorating your Christmas tree is a chance to get creative with tinsel, lights and baubles, it can be hard to judge just how many decorations you need for your tree to looks its best.
Sure, you can buy selected sized packs of decorations and length of string lights, but this will only be effective on certain types and sizes of tree.
Luckily, Admiral has done some number crunching and created a rather ingenious calculator that mathematically works out exactly how many baubles and metres of lights you need to suit your type and size of Christmas tree.
‘The Christmas Tree Bauble Calculator’ - as it’s simply known - asks you just four questions before giving you your own optimal number and perfect formula for your tree.

Firstly, it asks the height of your tree, giving you options to select from 4ft to 8ft, next it enquires about the shape (full, slim or pencil) before asking what size baubles you decorate with.
Finally, it asks the appearance you’d ideally like for your tree (jam packed, minimal or somewhere in between) in order to paint an accurate picture of how you’d like your tree to be decorated.
For example, let’s say that you have a 6ft tree, of slim build, have small baubles and would like your tree to be decorated somewhere in between full and minimal. If you input this information in to the calculator, it will tell you that it recommends 81 baubles and eight metres of fairy lights.
Or, if you have a 4ft tree, of ‘pencil’ build, with large baubles and are after a minimal finish, the calculator recommends six large baubles and two metres of fairy lights.
You can give the calculator a go here. You’ll then have the perfect setting for your presents to be scattered around. Deck the halls!
