Infusion of young talent deemed the Eagles biggest offseason need

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to part in one of the most important offseasons in franchise history.

With Carson Wentz signed to one of the richest guaranteed contracts in NFL history, it’s imperative that Howie Roseman and company get the most out of his prime years.

During his end of the season press conference, Roseman hinted at the Eagles overhauling the roster and getting younger at prospective positions.

According to Tim McManus via ESPN’s biggest offseason needs for all 32 NFL teams, an infusion of youth is No. 1 on the Birds to-do list.

An infusion of young talent. The Eagles loaded up the 2019 roster with veterans to make a Super Bowl push, but their age showed itself in the form of injuries and low energy. The offense took off when younger players like Miles Sanders rose to the forefront, and they need more of that to set up Carson Wentz as he enters Year 5. — Tim McManus

It’s no shock that the Eagles made their late-season run after adding Boston Scott and Greg Ward to the lineup and now Howie Roseman needs a complete overhaul of young and talented players at pertinent positions.

Looking at the depth chart, Miles Sanders and Dallas Goedert are the only two young guys under 25 that can be considered elite game-changers.

According to Reuben Franks of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Eagles’ have only had four Pro Bowlers ages 25 and under since draft LeSean McCoy. DeSean Jackson and Nick Foles in 2013, Fletcher Cox in 2014, Cody Parkey in 2015 and Carson Wentz in 2017.
