Infuriating footage shows brazen Audi driver speed down bus lane and intimidate cyclist in Dublin

A brazen Audi driver was filmed intimidating a cyclist in a Dublin bus lane during a busy early morning commute.

The GoPro footage shows a white Audi car cutting off a cyclist in Ballsbridge, Dublin, before chasing them down a bus lane and swerving in front of their bike.

The incident occurred at the junction between Shrewsberry Road and Merrion Road at around 8am on Monday morning.

The driver of the 2014 registered car "aggressively" intimidated the cyclist and swerved in front of him according the cyclist who captured the footage.

Cyclist Gareth Little said he bumped into the car himself after it broke suddenly and said he exchanged words with the driver after the dangerous incident.

Little told the Irish Mirror: "The driver of the white car came out of a side road and cut off the cyclist; He either didn’t see him or just pulled out regardless.

"The bang you hear in the video was the cyclist slapping his window to express frustration at being cut off. Then the driver pressed his horn and entered the bus lane.

"I am much closer to the event at this stage and am concerned about a car chasing down a bike in an aggressive manner so I speed up.

"As I catch up, the driver swerves left to try and block the cyclist and also breaks quite suddenly.

"I then bump into the back of the car. The driver has his passenger window down and has launched into a loud verbal attack on the cyclist saying 'how dare you touch my car'.

"It was at this point I approached the driver’s window and express my concerns about his driving. When we are exchanging words, the other cyclist cycles off and that was the last I see of him.

"After words were exchanged between us, I cycled on. I could hear the car behind me, still in the bus lane but I never looked back and I disappeared off into the traffic ahead."

Little told Irish Mirror that he didn't report the altercation because similar incidents are "so common".
