
As of September 30, 2022, Infosys employees headcount stood at 3,45,218 compared to 3,35,186 employees as of June 30, 2022 --- registering a net addition of 10,032 employees in Q2.
Of the total employees in Q2FY23, 3,28,146 employees were S/W professionals and 17,072 employees from sales and support. The percentage of women employees remained unchanged at 39.3% in Q2FY23 versus Q1FY23.
Year-on-year, Infosys made a strong net addition of 65,601 employees from 2,79,617 employees witnessed in Q2 of FY22.
Infosys revenue per employee on a consolidated basis was at $55.5k in Q2FY23 slightly lower from $56.9k in Q1FY23 and $57.3k in Q2FY22.
Further, the company's voluntary attrition (LTM - IT services) came in at 27.1% in Q2FY23 against 28.4% in Q1FY23 and 20.1% in Q2FY22.
Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer said, "Operating margins in Q2 expanded sequentially by 150 bps, helped by our operational rigor. While supply-side challenges are gradually abating as reflected in the reducing attrition rates, they continue to exert pressure on our cost structure."
During the press conference, Roy added, "No delay in onboarding freshers. We have opened our Mysore campus. We are on track to onboarding freshers. We have already hired 40,000 freshers out of our plan of hiring 50,000 freshers for the year and the number could go up."
According to the financial audit report, Infosys reported strong Q2 performance with year-on-year growth at 18.8% and sequential growth at 4.0% in constant currency. Year-on-year growth was in double digits across all business segments in constant currency terms. Digital comprised 61.8% of overall revenues and grew at 31.2% in constant currency. The operating margin for the quarter increased sequentially by 140 bps to 21.5%. Large deal TCV for the quarter was robust at $2.7 billion, the highest in the last 7 quarters.
Infosys revised FY23 revenue guidance to 15%-16%; while operating margin guidance is also revised to 21%-22%.
During the quarter, Infosys posted a consolidated net profit of ₹6,021 crore up by 11% from ₹5,421 crore in Q2FY22. While consolidated revenue from operations climbed by 23.43% to ₹36,538 crore in Q2FY23 against ₹29,602 apiece in Q2 of the previous fiscal.
