Informal poll of NBA players indicates desire for season’s return

Earlier on Tuesday, we heard that both the league’s executives and its top players have conveyed through various different informal committees that they would like to play as soon as they can and when the NBA tells them its safe to play. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are two of the stars who want to play, but according to more reporting on the subject, the star players on max contracts aren’t the only ones who are hoping for a return to play, including a finish to the regular season.

Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press reported on the impression given to many about the results of the poll that the majority of players want to suit up whenever it’s safe for them to do so.

The poll conducted by the National Basketball Players Association was informal but gave a clear sense that players would like to not only get to the playoffs but also resume at least some of the regular season, according to the person who shared details with The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because it was not to be detailed publicly.

There have been two locations floated as potential “bubbles” where the NBA can finish the season and eventually crown an NBA champion: Las Vegas and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
