An influencer has been slammed for her controversial opinion on what counts as an acceptable date.
Kornelija Slunjski, who goes by the pseudonym Koko Beaute on TikTok, has racked up almost 60,000 followers for sharing dating advice and beauty tutorials.
But in a video that has been viewed more than 2.5 million times, the makeup artist revealed: "I do not accept a coffee or a walk as a possible date option," which sparked a fierce debate as people labelled her "high-maintenance."
She elaborates: "First of all, I’m not a dog that needs to be walked. Second, I have a Nespresso machine at home – works fabulous [sic]."
"We’re not doing drinks either,” adding: "You’re going to try to get me drunk and take me back home."
She then proceeds to describe her ideal date.
"You’re going to pick me up, we’re going to come to the restaurant," she says.
"We’re going to see your table manners, we’re going to see what you order, we’re going to see [if] you hold your chopsticks correctly.
"We’re just going to… study you a bit. Okay?”
She concludes: "So dinner it is."
Since being posted, the video has been liked almost 270,000 times and had received 20,000 comments from divided viewers.
One person said: "That's so rude and disrespectful, to the men and their parents and also to the women who prefer coffee or walking over dinner."
Another wrote: "Tell me [you're] high maintenance and have ridiculous standards without telling me. I bet you always expect a man to pay for you too."
A third person added: "I never do dinner on a first date. It can be away too much time to spend with someone I have zero interest in."
Slunjski addressed the criticism in a follow-up video, where she said: "I mean, I understand that you guys say dinner is high maintenance, but that’s just like… what I’m used to, you know?"
