The passing of Brandon Miller last year came as a shock to all who knew him. However, people close to the New York real estate mogul have revealed that Miller’s wife, Candice Miller, has refused to attend her husband’s headstone unveiling. Insiders claim her decision stems from her anger at their financial collapse which Brandon had apparently kept from her until his death.
Brandon took his own life last July while Candice and the couple’s two daughters were on a luxury vacation. A suicide note left by him explained that a make-or-break business deal had fallen through resulting in he and his family being left financially ruined. Candice, who is a known influencer online, was reportedly unaware of the financial trouble the family were in.
Candice Miller skips out on her husband’s headstone unveiling
Over the weekend, Brandon’s family gathered on Long Island for a Jewish tradition in which the headstone of the deceased is unveiled. The event also saw the headstone of Brandon’s mother be revealed — she passed six months after her son.
Despite most of the family being there Candice was nowhere to be found. Page Six reports that she was in the New York area at the time. According to the outlet, insiders have claimed that Candice is angry at her late husband due to the financial ruin he left them in. The real estate tycoon had reportedly amassed almost $34 million in debt prior to his passing. While her feelings towards Brandon have not been confirmed, the fact that she didn’t attend the very significant event dedicated to her late husband is very telling.
It’s mostly been radio silence from Candice since Brandon’s untimely death last year. A representative for the widow released a statement at the time which said, “Candice is devastated by the loss of her soul mate, and her two young daughters’ lives are forever impacted by the loss of their beloved daddy.” While she did make an Instagram post earlier this month to her luxury lifestyle blog, “Mama & Tata” earlier this month she ultimately decided to deactivate the account.
It’s also been revealed that Candice sold the house where she had lived with Brandon for $15 million and has since moved to Miami.
An ’emotional’ ceremony
One individual who did attend the gathering for Brandon claimed that it was “an incredibly emotional and moving gathering,” going on to say that “There wasn’t a dry eye as Brandon’s closest friends stood by the family to pay tribute.” However, they did draw attention to Candice’s absence.
“While Brandon’s wife, Candice, and no one from her side of the family attended, the presence and loyalty of those who did was a powerful reminder of the kind of man Brandon truly was — and the love he left behind.”
On Reddit some speculated that the Millers had been trying to hide their financial troubles as they saw it as shameful. Perhaps Candice still feels that somewhat, or perhaps she’s just trying to move on.
