It was all fun and games as the school holidays came to a close in Shotts.
The town’s GBT Centre hosted a whole host of inflatables and other games as the council's Club 365 summer programme, hosted by GBT, finished up before schools returned.
June Vallance, chief executive of Getting Better Together, told Lanarkshire Live : "It’s been a great day
"It’s been really busy, but the staff have really excelled themselves especially at the start of the summer when we had to keep the children in groups of 10 due to COVID restrictions.
“We were fortunate to receive some funding from Youthlink so we thought we would put on various activities just to round off the holidays.
“We have put on three sessions so everyone can get a go on the inflatables .
“As well as Shotts we have been able to pick up children from Harthill and Salsburgh.”
The Club365 scheme allows pupils who are entitled to free meals to attend a number of venues during the holidays and enjoy a lunch, multi-sports games and activities.
Primary school pupils entitled to free school meals can attend any of the council’s 18 hubs open across North Lanarkshire and enjoy a hot lunch, sports and activities in a fun setting.
In Shotts around 250 children registered with GBT over the summer period with average attendance being around the 65 mark.
June added: “It’s just nice for everyone to get back to some kind of normality especially the children.
“We’ve been doing various activities with the children including a graffiti wall and they have been doing some terrific work.
“It’s just one of a number of activities we have been doing over the past few weeks.”
