Infielder Kody Clemens struck out the Dodgers’ Michael Busch with a 57-MPH pitch

Kody Clemens — son of Roger — has been here before.

The career infielder has been called in as a reliever eight times in his MLB career to pitch in blowouts. You may recall that, as a member of the Detroit Tigers in 2022, he struck out Shohei Ohtani and was so excited about it. Ohtani even signed the ball he used for the strikeout.

But Clemens doesn’t throw that hard. And on Monday, we saw him step up to the mound — he’s now a member of the Philadelphia Phillies — to strike out Michael Busch with a 57-MPH pitch. Very impressive, although maybe Busch didn’t care about swinging in a 13-4 game:
