The Covid-19 infection rates in Wirral, Liverpool and Sefton have dropped by around a third in a week as the number of cases continues to fall in the Liverpool City Region (LCR).
According to Public Health England, the percentage change in infections week on week in Wirral is down 34.7%, in Sefton it's down 33.7%, and in Liverpool it's down 32.6%.
In Wirral, for the week ending January 23, there were 1,613 cases in Wirral in the last week, which is 856 fewer cases than the previous week.
In Sefton, for the week ending January 23, there were 1,459 cases in Sefton in the last week, which is 742 fewer cases than the previous week.
While in Liverpool, for the week ending January 23, there were 2,723 cases in the city in the last week, which is 1,317 fewer cases than the previous week.

The data also shows that Liverpool now has an infection rate of 546.7 per 100,000 people. Sefton has an infection rate of 527.8 - which is the fastest falling infection rate in the LCR - and Wirral has an infection rate of 497.8.
The infection rates have also gone down in the other areas of the LCR.
In Halton, there is an infection rate of 619.0 for the week ending January 23. There were 801 cases in Halton in the last week, which is 307 fewer cases than the previous week. This means the week on week change dropped by 27.7%.
In Knowsley, there is an infection rate of 822.6 for the week ending January 23. There were 1,241 cases in Knowsley in the last week, which is 422 fewer cases than the previous week. The week on week change dropped by 25.4%.
In St Helens, there is an infection rate of 667.3 for the week ending January 23. There were 1,205 cases in St Helens in the last week, which is 283 fewer cases than the previous week. The week on week change dropped by 19.0%.
The rate per 100,000 in the LCR is 531.03 for the week ending January 23. There were 9,042.0 cases in the last week, which is 3,927 fewer cases than in the previous week. There has been a 30.3 per cent week on week fall in infection rates.
