An infatuated security guard at an upscale housing estate broke into one of the houses, intent on having sexual relations with the woman homeowner, in Bang Bua Thong district of Nonthaburi province.
The target of his amorous fixation, a 26-year-old influencer, was alerted to the intruder's presence by her home's security alarm, checked the CCTV system and saw the man inside the house.
The woman escaped by climbing out of a second-floor bedroom window and fled to a neighbour's home to seek help. She has not been publicly identified. (continues below)
The woman's uncle, Bancha "Pa Choo" Parnniwat, a well-known figure in Thailand's comedy industry, said the suspect admitted he had been infatuated with his niece for some time.
The guard had been following her movements for about three months, he said, and had secretly entered the property on two previous occasions while she was away.
In a Facebook post, Pa Choo described the ordeal, saying his niece was forced to climb onto a high balcony and scream for help to escape. He credited the home's security system with alerting her in time, saying the outcome could have been far worse had the alarm not been triggered.
He also shared photographs showing what he claimed were semen stains inside his niece's walk-in wardrobe. (continues below)
Police later arrested the security guard, who reportedly confessed to breaking into the house after developing feelings for the homeowner. The investigation was ongoing.
The victim has, meanwhile, criticised the response from the housing estate management, juristic office and the security company, saying they failed to accept adequate responsibility following the incident.
She alleged the company argued that no sexual assault had occurred, and offered her 200,000 baht in compensation while warning she would receive less later if she rejected the offer. (continues below)
The influencer said she purchased the house for more than 10 million baht expecting a safe living environment. She no longer felt secure living there and intended to sell the property.
She also said the incident has left her suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
According to Pa Choo, the family has met representatives of the security company several times but has yet to reach an agreement on compensation or further action.
