An infant boy has died in Temple Street Hospital on Thursday morning following an incident.
The little baby was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday morning where the situation was reported by medical staff to Gardai who were concerned about the child's welfare.
The boy continued to receive medical treatment at the hospital on Wednesday but sadly passed away on Thursday morning.
A spokeswoman for the Gardai confirmed the tragic death and told Dublin Live that they "are currently investigating all the circumstances of this incident."
The spokeswoman added that there would be no further information at this time.
