'Inexcusable' - Chelsea fans rage after spotting what Kurt Zouma did during Southampton draw

Chelsea fans have been raging after spotting what defender Kurt Zouma did just before Danny Ings' goal for Southampton at the weekend.

The Blues played out a 3-3 draw with Southampton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and let a lead slip on two occasions.

A brace inside the opening half an hour from Timo Werner set Frank Lampard's side on their way, but Ings pulled a goal back just before half-time.

And it was in the run-up to this goal, which saw Ings latch onto a defensive slip by Zouma, which resulted in a way back into the game for the visitors.

Although the England striker still had a lot to do to score - and was helped by some indecision from Chelsea no.1 Kepa Arrizabalaga - Chelsea fans were quick to notice Zouma's reaction to his mistake.

The defender appeared to give up as Ings raced through on goal and didn't bother to track back to try and make life difficult for the striker.

Fans were left raging with Zouma, with shambles, embarrassing and shocking just some of the words used on Reddit.

Here is a flavour of their reaction.

EdEnsHAzArD: Hopefully when they review the goals he calls Zouma out for this, this is shocking.

matttargaryen: That's just absolutely embarrassing.

Molsa2912: Yh it was an awful goal to concede and kepa didnt cover himself in glory but zouma back pass was the cause of the situation and didnt even try to get back. Shambles.

PolemosLogos: He stopped running. How pitiful. He needs to be benched.

AdzBoogie: The mistake is forgivable, but that reaction there isn't.

ProgsRS: Absolutely atrocious defending and lack of responsibility.

The way he was just stood there slowly walking along and raising his hands relying on others to clear it instead of running back and trying to make up for his mistake in any way possible is embarrassing.

He could've still prevented the goal from being scored.

Kiwi_CFC: That is absolutely inexcusable.

taggsy123: To the bench. Not for the error, but for lack of effort.
