Indyref2 latest poll shows Yes and No results at 50-50 split

Scots are evenly split on independence, according to a new poll.

The 50-50 result puts more strain on the union just as Prime Minister Boris Johnson starts unpicking the UK’s relationship with Europe.

The Survation poll also revealed majority support for the SNP ahead of the next Holyrood election in 2021.

The findings are based on research carried out in the days immediately before a YouGov poll, published last week, which put independence ahead on 51 per cent.

For Holyrood voting intention, the SNP are up to 51 per cent in constituencies and up to 38 per cent on the regional list. Every other party fell back, with Labour losing five points in constituencies.
