Industry leaders hailed at Scottish Property Awards

The development group behind some of Scotland’s most significant urban regeneration projects has won a top industry accolade for the second year running.

Drum Property Group was named Property Company of the Year at the Scottish Property Awards staged in Edinburgh last night.

The judges highlighted Drum’s “pursuit of opportunity and ability to deliver large scale projects” at locations including Buchanan Wharf, one of Glasgow’s largest urban regeneration schemes and the Prime Four business park in Aberdeen.

The Business Leadership Award went to industry veteran Eric Young, the founder and chairman of Eric Young and Co, who recently left the firm and joined Orinsen, a new commercial property agency working alongside four former colleagues.

Other awards presented on the night included the Development of the Year (Commercial) which went to The Event Complex Aberdeen which was recognised for its environmental and sustainability credentials.

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, designed by Ryder Architecture, was also recognised in both the Healthcare Development of the Year and Innovation in Design categories.

The Deal of the Year category, sponsored by PMP, went to  a deal team of Osborne + Co, Scotsbridge Holdings, Savills, JLL, DLA Piper and Shepherd and Wedderburn for the JP Morgan Chase Technology Hub in Glasgow.

More than 800 people attended the ceremony for the awards which Scottish Business Insider was media partner of.
