If this week had a theme (and they don't really, outside the media) then it was industrial relations. Whether it was the Heathrow stuff threatening business travellers or tribunals seeing their verdicts questioned, or even business owners complaining about tribunals setting up in the first place, it wasn't an easy week for employer/employee balance.
New technologies started to emerge to help businesses, though. Businesslink offered an online service to track the most profitable customers, while 02 spoke of a brave new mobile Internet.
Overall the economic news wasn't good. Inflation was up and so was unemployment, leaving hopes of another interest rate cut looking optimistic, or at least wildly unrealistic.
Still, at least you'll be able to get a hot meal if you're a business traveller. This weekend, at any rate. Have a good one.
