Indore: Varsity begins admission process in PhD

INDORE: Over three weeks after declaring Doctoral Entrance Test (DET) results, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has finally started admission process.

Ahead of beginning with course work, candidates go through interview process, which is done by Research Advisory Committee (RAC). The varsity has set up new research committee and has also put up list of candidates with their guides on its portal. It has begun with the process from Monday onwards.

The delay in beginning of admission process was caused due to formation of the new RAC, said officials

“Schedule for different subjects has been posted on DAVV’s website. General guidelines for candidates has also been uploaded along with updated list of supervisors/seats,” DET chairman Dr Abhay Kumar told TOI.

The university teaching departments (UTD) will decide interviews on their department level and outstation candidates will be given one week time to attend the interview which will only be conducted in conventional manner, he added. DAVV had conducted DET after a gap of 28 months on April 19 for 1215 vacant seats for PhD in 44 subjects. Nearly 6300 candidates had registered themselves for entrance test. Of them, 4590 had appeared for the exam.
