INDORE: Two police constables were stabbed during a routine check in Rau late Sunday evening. One of them is in hospital.
Police teams searched in the fields all night for the attacker, but he gave them the slip. He hadn’t been caught over 24 hours after the stabbing. There was tension in the area after the incident, prompting police to conduct a flag march.
Police said a team was sent to a spot on Rau-Pithampur Road to check out locals’ concerns about shady activities at a small shack that had opened a few days ago. Head constable Amin Khan and constable Ajay spoke to the man running the shop, and finding his answers suspicious, decided to search him. Amin held him from behind while Ajay searched him, and this is when he attacked them, said Rau police station in-charge Narendra Singh Raghuwanshi.
