Indore: Seven held with fire arms

INDORE: Crime branch police busted a gang of illegal firearms dealers and arrested seven people along with recovery of 39 country-made pistols and ammunition from their possession, the police said on Monday.

Officials said that the accused were identified as Md. Salim of Dhamnod, Deepak Singh of Dhar, Vishal Chouhan of Dhamnod, Suban Qureshi of Pithampur, Sunil Thakur of Dhanigaon, Lakhan Thakur of Dhar, Arshad Mewati of Dewas and Amit Solanki of of Dewas.

DCP (crime) Nimish Agrawal said that the police on Sunday night received an input that two persons involved in illegal supply and sale of firearms were looking for buyers to sell pistols in Rau area.

Based on the input, a team of crime branch police was sent to the spot and Salim and Deepak were rounded up. tnn
