INDORE: Around 75% of adult population left for taking second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to achieve 100 per cent full immunisation in district were either due or overdue on Sunday.
The records of district immunisation office showed that over 9 lakh people, are either due (eligible) to take second dose or overdue (fail to take it in fixed time), of those remaining 12.14 lakh.
There is a prescribed gap of 84 days and 28 days between two doses of Covishield and Covaxin, respectively.
There is a cooling off period of 14 and 7 days after this prescribed gap before a person is put into overdue category.
The due, overdue number has jumped to all time high as vaccination drive slowed in district in the last couple of months with October reporting the lowest inoculation after February.
The district authority decided to complete inoculation of all those remaining 12 lakh by the end of November i.e, in next 23 days starting from Monday.
District immunisation incharge Dr Tarun Gupta said, “We have decided to run 225 government vaccination sites in district on Monday to inoculate as many as possible.”
The inter-departmental coordination involving ground staff in mobilising these people is going on along with NSS students participation in awareness campaign, said Dr Gupta.
“The detailed plan for next 23 days would be clear after CM meeting with collector and commissioner on Monday,” added Gupta.
CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan would review vaccination progress in a meeting on Monday. The district has so far reported 46.90 lakh inoculations including 29.52 lakh as first dose in an estimated adult population of 28.07 lakh.
